posted Aug 17, 2017, 1:02 PM by Alison Hills

Good evening all,

I hope you are all well ! Well it has been pretty busy in the masters
racing scene recently so time for another update!

*Anglo Welsh & British Indoor Champs*

These events took place last weekend in Manchester, and we saw a good
entrant particularly from the male masters!

On Saturday at the Anglo-Welsh, Alex Molliex was crowned masters champion
with Matthew Ingle in 2nd place shortly followed by Jim Gibb in 3rd. In the
ladies, Carrie Walsh was in 1st place with Sarah Campbell-Woodward in 2nd.

On Sunday, Alex again showed what he was made of and was in 1st place in
the masters with Jim Gibb in 2nd and Stuart Gillies in 3rd. Carrie Walsh
was also crown the masters ladies champion.

Well done to all who took part! The full results can be found here:

*Outdoor Champs*

There is still time to enter the remaining outdoor races for the season,
which are as follows:

Scottish Outdoor Champs, Hillend- 2nd September
All England Champs @ Norwich- 9th September
Welsh Champs @ Pontypool- 9th September
British Outdoor Champs @ Hillend- 23rd September

There are also a number of regional races still to take place over the
summer, so please check out the calendar on our website for more info (
www.britishmasters.org.uk)

*Landgraaf Training*

You will probably have seen various race club promote race training over
the summer. There are still a few camps left, with Impulse organising
training from 15-17 September and 6-8 October (Please contact Phil Brown
for more info)

We are also looking to arrange some training before the Lowland Champs so
please let us know if you are interested in this.

*FIS Masters Cup 2017-2018*

It is almost time for the season to start again with the first races of the
season taking place in Chile from 15-17 September. Colin Tucker will be
attending, so if you are interested in going, then please contact him on
07775 538238 as he has managed to sort some good options for accommodation
and transport.

There is also still time to enter the races in Amneville from 11-12
November and again we will be organising training before this event, so
please let us know if you are planning to come.

Lastly, we have now received confirmation from Kandahar that the British
FIS Masters races will be taking place in Chatel from 16-18 March 2018.
This is a fantastic event to attend if you have never done alpine racing
before, particularly as all the commentary is in English and we usually get
a large amount of members out to this event. We will keep you posted closer
to the time with regards to training and accommodation but in the meantime,
don't forget to renew your FIS Licence before the end of the month if you
want to be included on the next seed list.

Think that's all for now. As ever, if you attend any further events over
the summer and would like to share photos etc then please feel free to send
them through and I'll add them to our website and facebook page.

Take care and hope to see you soon!
